Synopsis:
In a cold, industrial-era land, a wounded man stumbles into the quiet and humble town of Esk. Fleeing a past of troubles which he would rather forget, he quickly befriends Anya, a young lady struggling to become a doctor in spite of the disapproval of her family and friends of this distinctly non-traditional path.

When the old and the weak begin dying of an horrific and unnatural plague, and the souls of the dead begin to wander the streets, people begin to pray that the magic-bringing spirits of old - imprisoned by traitors - will finally break free in this time of need.

harper 3/5
Well drawn, consistently updated, well thought out and well hyped... but it\'s got its flaws. I honestly got lost in the exposition and mythology and stopped reading for a while. Even catching up is confusing- the plot doesn\'t flow well, but the characters are engaging and the backgrounds and creepy creatures especially are well depicted. A solid fantasy comic with some flaws.
