Synopsis:
Intelligent Design by Robespierre Jones is a satirical comic strip lampooning religious myopia, politics, sex, celebrity, and other social elements. It is penned by “Robespierre Jones” the nom de plume of an otherwise unidentified author. The strip has been in existence a fairly short time and has developed a cult following among college readers and academics. It has been condemned by several religious blogs.
The strip features a protagonist, Mac Ateles, a half spider monkey, half macaque with an I.Q. of 164, a benignly overcharged libido, and advanced degrees in theoretical mathematics and philosophy.
Principle characters of the strip are:
• Mac Ateles
• Scott Forenzick, Mac’s best friend- a self -proclaimed IT Uber-God and embittered lay sociologist.
• Brother Tim Gargantua, a former NFL star turned televangelist.
• Cynthia Augmentis, a television anchor
• Clive, Lilly, Montalban and their son Little Jeffrey, the product of an infertility project gone terribly wrong. They are Mac’s effete, elitist neighbor’s whose Macrocephalic son is the mortal enemy of Scott Forenzick.
• Mr. Avoirdupois, Mac and Scott’s boss at the US Bureau of Weights and Measures, who has been clinically dead at his desk for the past two years.
• The first cloned human, a replicant of the late Shelly Winters, who has escaped the laboratory and is terrorizing the countryside.
