Synopsis:
Mob Ties is the story of Sydney Burns, and English teacher in Japan. After a night of drinking, Sydney finds himself inadvertantly engaged to one of his students, Mika - who just happens to be the daughter of a powerful Yakuza boss. As the mob tries to take over his life and Mika adjusts to being engaged to this huge, terrifying American, Sydeny's murky past is slowly uncovered, revealing him to be a much stronger and more imposing figure than anyone could have thought. Also, there are hints of an ancient prophecy that is influencing everyone's actions, and may be the reason why everyone finds themself in such an unusual situation.
