Synopsis:
By the year 2060 society has become a decaying, urban wilderness. The Pantheon Corporation offers human augmentation and genetic therapies for self-improvement and ‘better’ living, changing the way people view themselves and their relation to each other.
Pantheon’s surgeries have shaped society in the image of an ancient Grecian culture, creating cults following the portfolios of the twelve Olympian deities based on specialized augmentation sets.
Architecture, fashion and lifestyle revolve almost entirely around Grecian influences, while the world crumbles behind their vanity and disconnection between reality and their fantasy.
Enter Dominique Valentine. In a world where augmentation is not simply a choice, but an intense social and legislative pressure, unenhanced or ‘organic’ individuals are an oddity, and they have to be tough. With a general disinterest in her health and wellbeing only surpassed by her general disinterest in others’ health and wellbeing, this pint-sized private detective has more personality than people can point a stick at. The only thing that Dominique does care about is that her ashtray is empty, and her bottle of scotch is full. If people want to walk the path to self-destruction, that’s their business.
However, when a young girl suddenly goes missing, and Dominique’s pantry is dangerously empty of the bare necessities, she takes a case that someone just might end up regretting. . .
After all, the hungry are the reckless.
