Synopsis:
One day George Union was a 28 year old Chartered Accountant living in a one bedroom apartment in Manchester devoting his spare time to his one passion, Manchester City Football Club and the next he was a superhero with a secret identity - Manchester Nova!
Where did it all change for George, let's start at the beginning.
It was a summer day in 2008 when George's boss at Stretford Life, Mr McKay, requested that George assist him in a new cost-saving project to add solar panels to the roof of Stretford Life Towers. It was this seemingly innocuous request that would change George's life for ever.
\"Now Union\" said Mr McKay \"this new project will allow enhance Stretford Life\'s green credentials and make Stretford Life the greenest life company in Manchester if not the north west\" All George could hear was \"blah blah life company blah\" while thinking about the impending start of the football season. As George\'s mind wandered to the opening game of the season against Aston Villa he strolled out of the showroom of Double Quick Solar Panels UK into a storage area where hundreds of solar panels were stored (George later found out that these were malfunctioning experimental solar panels!). It seemed odd to George that all of the solar panels were unpacked and the sun reflecting off them made George grateful that he had his trusty light reacting glasses.....
It was at this point that George was overwhelmed by light and as his world went white he passed out.
George woke up in hospital a few hours later with a headache and a serious sunburn!
Three weeks later George was considering how changed he was. From memory he couldn\'t recall that before the accident he was able to fire flames from his hands or set his whole body on fire. Boy, the morning George first erupted into flames it scared the life out him. For that matter he also previously could not fly or have the strength to lift a car.
And George was no longer short sighted!
At first George was unsure about his new abilities and kept them hidden but over time he became to accept that this was him now and it was at this point that Manchester Nova was born. George decided to use his new powers to protect and he designed a rather natty (in his opinion) outfit which was a bit heavy on the red and yellow!
From then on a red and yellow blur flying across Manchester was often seen......
