Synopsis:
Nikaya knows that she is different. Her light eyes, hair, and skin have marked her such for as long as she can remember. After a childhood of bullying and ridicule, Nikaya believes she has finally found her place among them as a part of their cast of horse-handlers, the Kin. There, her singular talent for communication with the herd has put her in favour with Kin Leader Samati. Everything seemed to be falling into place.
Nefertiri always wondered what laid beyond the borders of Kinari. When her parents brought home the sister she never wanted, Nefertiri was first bothered by the girl\'s strange looks—then intrigued. Now, on the cusp of adulthood, she is given the opportunity to join another tribe and see a new world, a new way of life. There\'s just one, small hitch.
