Synopsis:
A world of inflating crime and fallible technology. A city perceived to be one of the great automaton capitals; its population of humanoid machines is predicted to match that of the people in the next three years. All the time, the division between the price of bone and metal grows thinner and thinner. Both can easily become victims of prejudice, hate, and the hunger of the city's grim underbelly.

That really doesn’t matter to the irritable, out-of-work 22-year-old Jay Eckhart, who’s content to be left alone and do his work as far away from his father’s crime-riddled, ethically-questionable world of big business as possible. Unfortunately, the only thing he’s good with is machines.
