Get The Code Synopsis: "The Hourglass" tells the story of Theri Latrodect, heir to the failing Latrodect house. But Theri feels there’s more she can do for her family than eke out an existence from them - her mother left her an enchanted hourglass that’s been counting down for years, and it’s about to run out. Theri believes that it’s an artifact from Macatan, their ancestral home, and the hourglass is counting down to when it will be safe to return - when the mysterious creature that took their power would be at its weakest, possible to defeat… With none of her clan willing to help her, she turns to the Sceles - a clan with magic in their blood and a reputation for caution - and gains one companion, at least: the adventure-seeking Arra Sceles. Together they set out, across lands that remember - and despise - their ancestors; because to free Macatan, they first have to find it. And find it fast, before the last grains of sand run out.
