Synopsis:
Having finally completed the period of physical change known as ceremorphosis, a subterranean horror looks forward to taking its place in illithid society - sucking out brains, herding thralls, plotting to take over the world, all that good stuff. It would seem the gods have other ideas, however, as our young mind flayer awakens not in the Underdark, but on the surface. It's one thing after another, as the surface and its denizens are revealed to have more in store than even a mind flayer would have expected.
