Synopsis:
Faolain had never quite fit the mold for a young woman of her village.....though ever since the mysterious disappearance of her parents several years earlier, no one in the tiny village of Piper's Field had paid her much notice. She was taken-in by her grandmother, the local wisewoman, and spent her formative years learning the gentle art of healing.
Though she was happy and comfortable living in the woods outside Piper's Field, like most young adults Faolain yearned to see more of the world. When she wasn't acting as her grandmother's apprentice Faolain spent her time practicing woodlore and archery, dreaming of marvelous adventures.

It is tragedy that sets Faolain on the path to adventure, however. The girl who was raised as a healer will become at once a heroine and a misfit. She will leave her childhood behind to follow a life's course that will demand all her courage and skills as it leads her to a fate she never imagined.
