Synopsis:
Twenty-one years ago, a massive storm swept the entire world as the rise of the oceans swallowed the fates of humanity. In the depths of the flood, homes, loved ones, livelihoods and nations have been lost. Those who survived took refuge in higher mountains and sea vessels, pondering how such a flood could ever happen. As time passed, not a single man had an answer answers. Some blamed global warming. Some blamed Mother Nature. Many blamed God.
Twenty one years later, in the charming and festive Isle of Esperanza, cranky Morgan faces some serious dilemmas. A struggling waitress working for minimal pay, she has difficulties balancing her job, and her 'caretaking job' of her suicidal, wheelchair-bound, roomate named Auris, who now celebrates his 21st birthday. Once Morgan looses both her job and her apartment, Auris and Morgan are forced to shelter in the isle's only abandoned house while an oncoming storm approaches. It is inside these perfectly preserved rooms and halls that Auris, Morgan, and their friends, stumble upon the dark secrets of Esperanza and its bonds to the spiritual realms, prior to the much anticipated "Festival of Esperanza".
It is in the course of seven days that the lives of these characters are changed forever. Morgan tries to wrangle between she perceives and what she believes. Father Julius is forced to put his faith to the test. Professor Katz is on a mission to stop Esperanza from plotting a desperate scheme. Trent, a mysterious youngster, is driven to act on a "heavenly errand". And Auris holds a serious secret that he doesn't even understand...
