In case you can't tell from the other comments, Wapsi Square isn't everyone's cup of tea. If you're the type of comic reader that only likes one or two flavors, it's not for you.
On the other hand, if you like some variety, artwork that is it's own style and not "like so-and-so", and writing that exists primarily to tell you about the characters (who they are, why do they do what they do) give this a try.
Do not read one strip and decide you know what this comic is about based on that. Wapsi Square (like much true art) has to be invested in to appreciate. Read a month's worth, at least, before making a decision as to whether or not to follow it. Don't be afraid to refer to the cast page to get a general idea who that character you never saw before is. (Although, there are three "young" ladies that need to be added.)
Is it funny? I don't know. It is to me. It may or may not be to you. If you find some things in life funny, then the answer is yes. If not, then it's no. Keep in mind: "funny" is only part of what makes this comic great. |
