No jealousy going on here (in fact, I rank higher, as of this posting). I'm just calling it as I see it, I view comments as a place for reviewing honestly, not just for pimping favorite comics. |

Lesnick is truly a god amongst men. I appreciate the fact that his (hand!) lettering and balloons are so well done, in addition to his unique, cartoony art style that reminds me a lot of more classical cartoons. There's just something compelling about how the writing and artwork gel into something greater than the sum of their parts; this is clearly how you succeed in making a comic. Watterson would be proud. |

I'll post a comment for these guys, since I've recently discovered the strip and went through the archives. Fair warning, it may feel intimidating if you're not into general aviation, but the writers make it very easy to get into. Before you know it, you'll be speaking pilot lingo too. The recent move to full color was a big help - it adds a nice element to the strip.
The characters all have very defined personalities, and they have a DuckTales feel to the way they come to life. My only regret is that they don't update more often, but the archives have shown consistent updates and hard work. |

I did get a bunch of laughs, and the fellow who writes it seems to have some talent (and, this may be because I'm a sap, but one of the stories ends on a more somber note, and I did feel genuine sympathy for the characters).
The strips feel very compressed, though - they need more open space for the balloons and characters to breathe and not trample all over each other. The lack of color gives it a manga feel, but it also feels very sparse. This is one of those cases where color isn't necessary, but wouldn't hurt to have.
I've seen stuff that's a lot worse than this. It's average, and what you see is what you get. If you can accept it for that, you might enjoy it. |

What is this, the "Ride on the coattails of the gamer community" amateur hour? I don't suppose I have any real qualms with the general artwork, but the lettering is atrocious. Please, Comic Sans sucks. No one should ever be sumbitted to it. The balloon and composition style borders on acceptable, but generally look dreadful. Better shapes, thicker strokes, and not breaking 3D planes would be a quick fix for it.
The artwork isn't bad, I suppose - I've seen a lot worse. It could use some improvements, though, like varying line thicknesses and a little anatomy tweaking.
The content is hit or miss. Most of the time misses, but there were a few good laughs. It's too bad that it's another gamer comic, though it's not as blatantly gamer like Press Start to Play. There's some non-gaming content here and there and they seem to do a decent job breaking it up. |

It's very difficult to read. The lettering quality is very poor. The art is also kind of stiff, and the story seems to demand a faster pace and less nonsensicality. Spelling errors abound, etc. I think it has potential, but it seems to fall flat. When you have to work against the comic, it reduces your enjoyment muchly. I'd actually be able to accept the art much better if whoever letters the comic actually makes balloons whose tails don't cross each other every which way or require several pass-throughs to digest.
That being said, I can see them able to improve. There's potential. I did get a few laughs, but it seems they're going in a more serious direction. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but it has to start picking up or else interest will dwindle. |

It might not say it's been updated, but it has, every Monday, without fail. Ash and I are trying to make it work. ^_^ |
