Synopsis:
The Cucúy: a non-specific embodiment of terror used to frighten children into compliant behavior.
Stories of the Cucúy have been passed down from generation to generation within the families of Mexico. These stories were thought to be just local folklore, but soon the small town of Salvatierra, Mexico discovers that the existence of the Cucúy is a reality, and that more than one roams freely to instill terror on the inhabitants of the town.
Mannuel Ramirez, a cursed boy entering adulthood, soon realizes that he plays a role in the appearance of the Cucúy’s in Salvatierra. Can he carry the burden of protecting his hometown from the creatures that were once myth and legend, or will he fall prey to his childhood terrors?
